OKW Architects recently tasked me with making images from two of their most recent designs, right in my backyard here in the Bloomington – Normal, IL area.
First, I spent time on two different evenings at the Bloomington Country Club main clubhouse to shoot both interior and exterior images. The interior has been completely restored following the November, 2013 kitchen and roof fire.
I started in the Rafters Room, the club’s main dining space, when it was set for an absolutely stunning summer wedding.
Both the dining room staff and parents of the bride and groom were most gracious with me working in their space on such a busy and momentous day. If any of you are reading this, thank you, again!
A couple of weeks later, I returned to the property on a slow day to shoot the remaining interior spaces, beginning with the main lobby, then continuing to the lounge / bar area, and finally, the second dining room, which serves lunch only.
Lunch diners enjoy a beautiful view of the greens beyond through a long wall of windows. Much like the interior images at Staley Credit Union, I worked hard to make these images in such a way as to ensure that the window views were not just a blare of over-exposed white light.
Once again, the staff and members present were very helpful, and I am grateful! Finally, I headed outside at dusk for the final images of the main clubhouse entrance.
A gorgeous building, inside and out. Thank you for the opportunity to see it, and make these images for you. And a very extra special thank you to my local host, Mr. Blevins, for being so accommodating throughout this project.
Stay tuned for OKW Project #2, The Flats on Main, coming soon!
