My friend Amy lived in France twice in her twenties, where she befriended Cedric Pacaut (aka Bakala). I heard a lot about Bakala over the years. When Amy and I lived in Boston together, I sometimes woke to the sound of Amy babbling in French to him over the phone at 5:00 a.m., because he’d call in the middle of the night, forgetting about the time difference. 🙂 I eventually met Bakala in person in Boston when he came to visit Amy.
Bakala still lives in France, and is now married and has a gorgeous little boy. We keep in touch with each other on Facebook, where he saw my recent blog post about the power of post-processing. After reading that, he asked me if I could help restore two of his favorite childhood photos, one of him and his sister, and another of the two of them with their father. Here are the original scans he sent me:
I worked with the images in Lightroom, and here are the results:
Again, the power of post-processing software (and knowing how to use it!). This was a fun project for me. Merci, Bakala! Ce que de beaux enfants! 🙂
