David, Mary Catherine, Millie and Ted the Dog (Family Portraits)

Meet David, Mary Catherine (MC) and Millie!

They live in New Orleans on Algier’s Point, which is on the West Bank of the Mississippi even though it’s on the east side of the river. (I don’t get how that works, either.)  I went to grad school with MC at Boston College, and when I was there last week, we set aside time for a family photo session. I hadn’t ever met Millie before, and I completely fell in love. Millie and her many faces:

Millie lives with her family in a historic city in a historic home; I tried to capture her timeless charm in this photo session.

Their house has a classic red porch swing, which both Millie and Teddy love.

And I couldn’t resist the charming gate:

Millie has a little wooden chair that’s been in the family a long time, and so we had to get some shots of that, as well as this cuteness of them all playing on the porch swing:

How cute is this family? Lots of love here.

I absolutely love these next images…we had some play time on Millie’s bed, which is also a family heirloom and special to MC. (Plus, it started raining so we didn’t have much choice but to move inside!)

And before we wrapped, Teddy jumped in on the action, literally…

Guys, thanks for sharing your home with me and for years of friendship. I love you all! xoxoxo

About Holly Baumann Photography

I am Holly Baumann Ambuehl, a commercial and portrait photographer based in Central Illinois. My blog posts feature client work, but I just love to write, so I also write about owning a business, food and drink, travel, and my personal life! I am always honored when clients trust me to capture their vision, and equally so when my readers converse with me about what I've photographed or expressed here. I hope we'll have an opportunity to collaborate professionally and/or become friends. I'd love to hear what you think! - Holly
