CAN I COMMISSION A WORK OF FINE ART?
Yes, absolutely. Just email us with some details to get started, and we’ll draw up an estimate at no obligation. Your commission is billed in two components: 1) the commission fee, which covers the photographer’s time and expertise, and 2) product delivery, which varies according to your preferences and related expenses.
HOW DO YOU DETERMINE THE COST OF A COMMISSION?
Commission fees are affected by factors such as required equipment, travel, mileage, estimated on-location hours, time spent in post-production, wear and tear on expensive gear, level of difficulty, desired product size and format, and shipping (when applicable).
ARE COMMISSIONED WORKS LIMITED TO SINGLE OR LIMITED EDITION(S)?
Upon request. If no such agreement is established prior to the beginning of work, HBP reserves the right to make commissioned images available to other buyers. If you prefer to commission a one-of-a-kind piece, or limited edition piece, please communicate this during the estimate phase, and note that this type of agreement will be reflected in your estimate.
HOW ARE COMMISSIONED PROJECTS DELIVERED?
Following the on-location shoot, we’ll post the images in an online gallery for 90 days. From that gallery, you may select which images you’d like to purchase, and either purchase them directly from the gallery (prints only) or contact me to proceed with a custom framing order.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
Cash, credit, or check payable to Holly Baumann Photography.
WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?
- Commission Fees: Prior to beginning work
- Custom Framing Orders: Upon delivery
- Online Print Sales: At time of online purchase
WHAT IF WE AREN’T HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS?
If for any reason you aren’t happy with the results of your commission, we will continue shooting until you are satisfied. (But this has never happened.) Likewise, if you receive a damaged online or custom framing order, I will replace or refund your order.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY FINE ART ORDER?
- Online Print Sales: Varies according to 1) your selected shipping method and 2) the type of product. Prints usually ship within 2-3 business days, but other products such as canvas wraps and metal mounts may take a bit longer at the lab.
- Commissioned Works and Custom Framing Orders: Varies based on the complexity of the project. If you have a deadline, please communicate that when requesting your estimate.
IF I PURCHASE A PRINT, CAN I SCAN IT TO MAKE ADDITIONAL COPIES OR REPRODUCE IT IN OTHER WAYS?
No. Fine art prints are copyright protected and may not be altered or replicated in any way. When in doubt about copyright limitations, please ask.
